2 x Weekend Introductory Throwing Course - $250

Dates: Saturdays 2nd & 9th December, 3:30pm - 6:00pm

Sundays 3rd & 10th December, 10am - 12:30pm

In this 2 x weekend introductory course you will learn how to make a small vessel, such as a bowl, a mug or vase (or something in between) on a potter's wheel.

Weekend 1: Meet the clay. During the first 2 days I show you how to handle clay, give you an introduction into preparing (weding) and throwing basic forms on the potter's wheel. You have then time to experiment and practise yourself under my guidance.

Weekend 2: Shaping (trimming) the pieces you made the previous weekend, attaching handles and adding your very own style to your pieces through coloured slip/underglaze and carvings.

Your work will then be fired and glazed with transparent glaze and ready for pick up in 4 - 5 weeks' time after the course.

This course is aimed at complete beginners. Maximum of 4 students.

2 kg of clay, glaze, all materials and firings are included. More clay can be purchased as we go.

Please wear clothing that can get muddy and bring an old towel. Short fingernails can be an advantage :-)

Cancellations & Refunds

If the organiser cancels the class:

You are entitled to a full refund.

If you can't attend the class:

You’re welcome to send someone in your place.

OR

3+ weeks prior to start of term students will get a $250 refund.

1+ week prior to start of term students will get a $125 refund.

No refunds will be given if student cancels less than 1 week prior to term starting, or after the term has started.
