Clay in Motion - Foundation Throwing Course - $390

Dates: Tuesdays, 23rd July - 20th August & 17th September 2024, 6m - 9pm 

Please note that there is a gap of three weeks between week 5 and week 6.

In this 6 week pottery course, you will ground yourself with a foundation of wheel thrown pottery. You’ll be able to take a ball of mud and throw it into something beautiful (or not, that's fine too :-)). Learn the essential skills of wedging, centering (the most gloriously frustrating, hypnotising process you’ll ever experience), wheel throwing, trimming and decorating. In the final week, we come together for a glazing session to turn our masterpieces into fully functional ceramics.

Projects could include small bowls, tumblers, plant pots, vases and mugs.

During each three-hour lesson you will be guided to discover your personal approach to the art of clay throwing.

This course is aimed at complete beginners and also for those who've had a few lessons, but need a refresher to improve their technique. Maximum of 4 students.

2 kg of clay, glaze, all materials and firings are included. More clay can be purchased as we go.

Please wear clothing that can get muddy and bring an old towel. Short fingernails can be an advantage :-)

Cancellations & Refunds

If the organiser cancels the class:

You are entitled to a full refund.

If you can't attend the class:

You’re welcome to send someone in your place.

OR

3+ weeks prior to the start of the term the student will get a $390 refund.

1+ week prior to the start of the term the student will get a $130 refund.

No refunds will be given if the student cancels less than 1 week prior to the term starting, or after the term has started.
